Product Description
Every time I walk around the old city, I can't stop taking photos because there is something amazing in the air. One feels that one has become part of an ancient world, where life was simple and individuals were important, because life seems somehow stuck" in this milieu. It is as if the place has been opened from a historical book, making people feel happy and inspired. Jeddah provided me with many opportunities to hone my artistic skills, such as watercolour painting and drawing pictures of people in public places. I am confident that you will enjoy reading this book, and be drawn to the artwork as well. All appreciation and respect to Jeddah and its people.
About the Author
Peter Pienaar, an art teacher who came from South Africa to begin his teaching career in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2012. Peter fell in love with his new surroundings and wanted to document his impressions visually. During a period of four years, he was able to draw more than two hundred views of the city. The ancient world and the desert on canvas and paper. Peter Pienaar participated in four art exhibitions during that period, and his book, a coffee table book in which he deals with the arts, is a gesture and a tribute of respect and appreciation to Jeddah and its friendly people.
